San Francisco payments company Ripple is teaming up with the Central Bank of Montenegro to work on a novel digital currency pilot program. Montenegro Prime Minister Dr. Dritan Abazovic says that his country’s central bank has launched a pilot project with Ripple to build the first digital currency or stablecoin for the country. Dr. Abazovic himself met with Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and James Wallis, the company’s vice president of central bank engagements and central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). The Prime Minister says he believes Ripple can help develop a payment infrastructure that could provide “greater financial accessibility and inclusion.”Go to Source
