At the 3rd Annual Plan ₿ Forum in Lugano, a significant event unfolded as industry leaders, government officials, and Bitcoin enthusiasts gathered to unveil a life-sized statue of Satoshi Nakamoto. This initiative is a collaboration between Tether and the City of Lugano. It aims to promote Bitcoin and blockchain technology. The unveiling took place in front of Villa Ciani, symbolizing a tribute to the enigmatic creator of Bitcoin.
The statue, designed to evoke both mystery and innovation, features a unique aspect. It gradually disappears from view as observers change their perspectives. This decision once again echoes the actions of Nakamoto who stepped back into obscurity after presenting a revolutionary financial tool. It is a kind of a message that while the identity of Nakamoto has not been revealed but the concepts of decentralization and financial freedom are still relevant.
Mayor Michele Foletti stressed on the fact that Lugano is determined to become a key digital centre. He said he was honored to host the Plan ₿ Forum and to help the development of blockchain and digital assets. The statue not only represents Nakamoto but also embody the progressive image of the city.
Paolo Ardoino, the CEO of Tether, also commented on the statue, noting that it symbolizes the change that Bitcoin brought into the world. He used Nakamoto’s decision of decentralizing it to the community as the truest form of decentralization. Ardoino said that the artwork encourages people to keep on pushing for further development of innovation and financial freedom.
It was a part of the Plan ₿ Forum, an event where people discuss and collaborate on Bitcoin and blockchain topics. Lugano is gradually turning into a global center of digital assets where leaders and visionaries ready to talk about the future of finance.
The artwork was created by Valentina Picozzi and she aimed at painting Satoshi Nakamoto in a mysterious manner which defines and creates his persona. Her work is part of the process of increasing the general public’s understanding of how Bitcoin impacts the financial sector all over the world. Altogether, these elements bring to a new discussion of the future of finance.
