The Russian Ministry of Finance, which announced that Russia had started using Bitcoin (BTC) in foreign trade in recent weeks, is now preparing to sell Bitcoin assets seized in the Infraud hack case.

Russia may begin liquidating 1,032 Bitcoins seized in a bribery case in 2023, with the first batch of BTC to be sold valued at around $10 million, local Russian news agency TASS reported.
Marat Tambiev, a corrupt Russian official, had previously received a total of 1,032.1 BTC from the Infraud hacker group.
According to TASS, the Russian Treasury Department has started transferring Bitcoins for sale.
In 2023, Russian authorities seized BTC from Marat Tambiev, a former investigator at the Russian Investigative Committee who allegedly helped the Infraud hacker group in exchange for Bitcoin.
The former Russian investigator was found guilty of receiving 1,032.1 BTC from the group and sentenced to 16 years in prison.
