Coinbase collaborates with Riot Games for the League of Legends and VALORANT eSports events

Coinbase has announced its new partnership with Riot Games, becoming the new exclusive crypto-exchange and official blockchain partner for League of Legends and VALORANT eSports.

Coinbase announces the exclusive partnership with Riot Games for eSports competitions

“Level up. Coinbase is now the exclusive cryptocurrency exchange of @loleSports and @ValoranteSports global events.”

In practice, by working closely with Riot, Coinbase will create customized segments and in-game rewards, thus enhancing the fan experience during the competitions.

Specifically, the partnership will debut at the Masters (M2) in Toronto, with Coinbase creating engaging moments for fans that will embrace the global eSports calendars of both games.

Among others, there are Masters and Champions of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), First Stand, the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI), and the Worlds for LoL eSports.

In the context of the new partnership between Coinbase and Riot Games, the crypto-exchange will also introduce new game segments.

Both in “Econ Report” in VALORANT eSports and “Gold Grind” in LoL eSports, Coinbase will provide viewers with a live analysis of the in-game currency movement and its impact on team strategies.

Other news includes the “drop” for viewers, which will be unlocked during events, as well as promotions with exclusive prizes. To get an idea, there is also the chance to  win an all-inclusive trip for two people to the VALORANT Champions Tour or the LoL Worlds.

Regarding the partnership that unites the crypto world with eSports for the digital-first community, Coinbase writes:

“We are excited to plant our flag in competitions of such a high level that embrace a global fanbase, each incredibly diverse, but all with a shared championship mindset and a hunger for authenticity. As the most trusted and secure exchange in the world to buy, sell, and manage cryptocurrencies, we are eager to tap into a network of digital natives with the curiosity of what cryptocurrencies can unlock as the world seeks faster, cheaper, and more efficient ways to move their money. “

The partnership in Formula 1

Coinbase continues to expand its network of collaborations, even outside the financial sector.

In fact, in addition to eSports, last February Coinbase became the official partner of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One team. The logo of the exchange became visible on the AMR25 car and on the suits of the drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll.

The agreement was concluded entirely in USDC and also includes blockchain-based initiatives, with the possibility to integrate the Base network, the layer-2 developed by Coinbase.
