The Relay bridge reportedly integrates into the Rango Exchange multichain routing engine, increasing the exchange’s cross-chain interoperability. Now live on the mainnet, the update also adds two key pathways for users: EVM networks and EVM-compatible chains to and from Solana. This further improves Rango’s capability to support a broader range of assets and improve liquidity flows across multiple blockchain ecosystems.

The integration enables users to make an easy switch between previously separated chains. Relay makes it easy to seamlessly transfer assets between Bitcoin, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Optimism, and Solana with its infrastructure, removing the challenge of moving capital. Rango’s routing engine picks the most efficient route by pitting bridges against bridges, such as the latter addition of Relay, allowing more users to access liquidity across chains.

class="wp-block-heading">As Solana’s Growth Rises, So Does Demand for Cross-Chain Access

By early 2025, Solana’s total value locked (TVL) soared above $7 billion, overtaking the rest to become the second-largest TVL blockchain behind Ethereum. The rise in trading volume on meme-coin markets such as WIF and POPCAT and the need for efficient cross-chain infrastructure have increased retail activity. Tools that support capital movement from EVM networks to Solana’s ecosystem are crucial as the ecosystem scales.

With the addition of Relay, this demand is addressed by making transfers from Solana to EVM chains easier. Without multiple steps or platforms, it allows for liquidity provisioning, fee management, and risk hedging use cases. Rango’s unified interface also reduces user effort by letting you execute one-click transactions across chains.

The Technical Integration and Routing Flexibility Improvement

Additionally, Rango utilizes a multiple bridges per corridor strategy that reduces the likelihood of congestion and improves route optimization. Using Relay, the platform adds additional redundancy while offering real-time comparisons between different bridge providers, ultimately reducing costs and slippage. This approach keeps the trading continuity with issues in individual bridges.

It adds Relay’s liquidity pools and fee structure to Rango’s SDK. Relay routes with specific branding are highlighted through the platform interface so users can quickly identify preferred routes and click the one of their choosing.
