With the new mainnet upgrade, Merlin Chain is advancing its ZK verification mechanism. This will pave the way for future scalability as well as improved network security. Particularly, the upgrade is set to start on the 7th of November at 12:00 PM (UTC). Additionally, the estimated downtime of the upgrade is reportedly 24-48 hours.
As included in Merlin Chain’s latest mainnet upgrade, the platform intends to fortify its status as a cutting-edge Bitcoin L2 solution. For this purpose, it endeavors to enhance the underlying ZK infrastructure. In this respect, Zero-Knowledge proofs, which denote a cryptographic technique for transaction verification without the exposure of sensitive data, play key role in improving blockchain efficiency and privacy. Thus, with the integration of Bitcoin-based ZK validation model, the platform focuses on guaranteeing a relatively decentralized and secure consensus mechanism.
According to Merlin Chain, the mainnet upgrade will let users access historical transfers as well as account balances via its block explorer. The respective initiative ensures transparency along with seamless access to the data on-chain while optimizing backend components. Following the finalization of the upgrade, the platform will automatically be restored to normal operations.
