Bybit Sets New Security Benchmark, Intercepts $300M in Scam Activity

Bybit, world’s second-largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, today excitedly released the comprehensive outcomes of its 2025 Security Startup. Bybit has executed an industry-leading, multi-layered defense architecture that has efficiently secured thousands of users and set a new milestone for vigilant security in the digital asset space. As per the Chainalysis, $17 billion in cryptocurrency was lost due to scams and fraud in 2025.

Bybit has introduced a Dynamic Risk-Based protection system that steps in before money is lost. This system consists of three levels of risk for potential scam incidents. Every level has its own role in order to ensure the security of users while making the withdrawal process. Moreover, Byibit also ensures the smooth flow of activities during normal trading. The Triple-Tier acts as a strong security wall against a fraudulent framework.

Tier 1: Early Warning (Low Risk): using huge-data satisfactory to point out strange patterns, such as a massive amount of withdrawals to the same new address. Bybit instantly made surveys and a blacklist of dangerous destinations.

While in Tier 2: Real-time (Medium Risk), for certain accounts that are marked as flagged through credential stuffing databases or unclear withdrawal addresses, Bybit initiates real-time alerts during withdrawal. This system instigates users to pause and review the withdrawal before it is done.

On the Tier 3: Immediate Blocking and Cooling-off (High Risk): In this system, Bybit provides a chance to users that they must verify the transaction and undergo a review. In this wallet, addresses linked to confirmed scams, such as so-called “pig butchering” investment schemes, Bybit immediately implements a one-hour cooling-off period.

Bybit Fight Against Crypto Fraud in 2025

The outcomes from these steps initiated in Q4 2025, Bybit gets surprising and remarkable effects. In Q4 of 2025, out of $500 million in flagged withdrawals, Bybit effectively intercepted and recovered $300 million, along with saving the lives of 4000 users. Furthermore, Bybit’s proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) algorithm recognized 350 high-risk investment fraud addresses through on-chain data.

In the same way, in Infrastructure Resilience in 2025, the platform successfully foiled more than 3 million credential thefts. In On-chain Vigilance in Q4, the system auto-labeled 350 addresses and manually tagged 600 addresses via ticket operations.
