Key Highlights

Apex Group, Chainlink, T-REX Network, and the ERC-3643 Association have implemented a modular compliance framework for on-chain bonds aligned with Swift standards. The initiative demonstrates how established financial market standards can be combined with programmable compliance and interoperable blockchain infrastructure.

According to the official announcement, the framework integrates five elements. Apex Group provides the regulated asset servicing and operational environment and has worked with Swift to apply existing standards to the representation and lifecycle management of bonds on-chain.

The components of the framework

Chainlink provides institutional infrastructure for secure cross-chain transfers of ERC-3643 tokens through its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), compliance enforcement through its Automated Compliance Engine, and pricing data through Data Streams.

T-REX Network provides infrastructure that allows assets to be deployed once, managed through a single source of record, and distributed across supported blockchain networks.

The ERC-3643 Association contributes an open compliance standard that embeds identity, eligibility, and transfer rules as modular requirements at the asset level.

Swift standards provide the market-alignment layer, ensuring that on-chain asset representations remain consistent with established capital markets practices, data models, and interoperability requirements.

Swift joins ERC-3643 association

As part of the initiative, Swift has joined the ERC-3643 Association. This step supports closer alignment between traditional financial market standards and open on-chain compliance frameworks. ERC-3643, already used by institutions active in tokenization, gains additional clarity when mapped to Swift standards, giving market participants a shared reference for compliant tokenization.

How the framework works

Compliance requirements, such as identity verification, investor eligibility, and transfer restrictions, can be defined once and applied across multiple blockchain networks. Institutions can therefore distribute tokenized assets to investors on different networks without rebuilding the compliance layer for each environment. Investors can access the assets through their preferred networks while the underlying rules remain consistent.

An initial bond implementation illustrates the model. The asset is represented on-chain through T-REX Network infrastructure, uses ERC-3643 for programmable compliance, and follows Swift taxonomy to maintain continuity with existing capital markets processes.

Broader context and prior developments

The demonstration forms part of broader efforts to support institutional use of tokenized assets. Chainlink previously launched Chainlink 24/7, a service that delivers continuous market data for equities, commodities, and other real-world assets outside traditional trading hours. Aave has begun using those feeds to price tokenized collateral.

Separately, Apex Group has participated in a blockchain-native real estate fund developed with Goldman Sachs, Archax, LRC Group, and Ownera. In that project, Apex provides fund administration, depositary, banking, and Alternative Investment Fund Manager services, while fund units are issued and managed on-chain under existing regulatory frameworks.

Swift, Chainlink, Apex Group, and T-REX Network are presenting the framework in connection with the Singapore FinTech Festival. The model treats financial market standards, asset representation, identity, and compliance as interoperable building blocks.
