Polygon Crypto Gains Momentum as Binance & Polymarket Seek M Recovery

Polygon is approaching a critical price level as a proposed crypto hard fork puts the network back trending. POL recently recovered toward $0.10, while Binance and Polymarket are seeking to recover millions in stolen tokens through a controversial governance proposal.

The plan could strengthen confidence in Polygon’s ability to protect users, but it also raises questions about decentralization. Can the recovery effort help POL extend its rebound or trigger another round of selling?

Polygon and The Proposed Crypto Hard Fork

The proposed hard fork would zero the balances of four addresses linked to the Polymarket incident and one tied to Binance. Polymarket accounts for 23.86 million POL, while Binance’s address holds 46.63 million POL. The proposal would credit the equivalent balances to recovery wallets verified by the affected platforms.

Polygon block producers have already restricted transfers from the identified addresses. However, the current blacklist prevents movement without returning the assets to their owners.

The proposal would make the recovery permanent through a coordinated network upgrade. It would not create new POL or alter the token’s total supply. Governance discussion is scheduled for today. Approval would still require client development, testing on Polygon’s Amoy testnet, and coordination with validators.

The proposal describes the intervention as an exceptional measure tied to publicly acknowledged thefts and traceable funds. It warns that the action should not become a routine mechanism for reversing transactions.

Polygon Versus Bitcoin Layer 2 Crypto

Polygon’s governance debate also underlines the trade-offs facing blockchain networks as they expand utility and manage security risks. Bitcoin Layer 2 projects are pursuing a different approach by adding functionality around Bitcoin’s established network.

Bitcoin Hyper comes and aims to bring faster transactions, lower fees and smart-contract capabilities to Bitcoin through an SVM-powered Layer 2. The project is designed to support decentralized applications and Bitcoin-based DeFi activity, potentially giving BTC holders more ways to use their assets beyond simply holding them.

Bitcoin Hyper’s presale is approaching its November 26 deadline, with a token price of just $0.0136, or just a nod above a cent. It also records $33.2 million raised and staking rewards at 35% APY. That rate stands well above the 0.46% APR currently displayed for POL staking on Binance.

With the November 26 deadline approaching, Bitcoin Hyper is positioning its presale around the demand for Bitcoin scaling and DeFi utility.

POL Price Faces $0.10 Test as Recovery Proposal Advances

POL traded around $0.096, up 4.6% over seven days. The token remains close to the $0.10 psychological resistance level. The recovery proposal could add a Polygon-specific catalyst if governance advances and investors view the intervention positively.

POL’s immediate resistance sits around $0.0966, followed by $0.0975 and the $0.10 level. A sustained breakout could strengthen the bullish outlook. On the downside, $0.0944 is the nearest support, with $0.0911 providing another level to watch. A failure to hold these areas could leave the token vulnerable to renewed selling.

Polygon’s recovery proposal gives POL a new governance-driven catalyst, but the market still needs confirmation through price action.

A sustained move above $0.0975 and $0.10 could strengthen the rebound. Failure to hold $0.0944 would weaken the near-term setup and put lower support levels back looming.
